We want to bring attention to a vital problem we must face in our country: survival for our private companies. I'm writing to you with the hope that you'll publish this information, hoping that from abroad we will wake up the media in Italy that are saying only what is good for their political party's. We have three main issues that are destroying our economies: <ul> <li>Unemployment, nothing has really been done in the last ten years to increase employment in our country, therefore, the only people able to spend money is the retired people and the working aged people. All of them are more after saving than spending, so the economy is stuck. Ministers are so far from knowing the real condition of the economy that are not even thinking about a solution (this is a matter of facts, not a supposition).</li> <li>The Government is not paying his bills, is delaying payments, therefore, small business working in the state environment are firing people because can't stand anymore financing Italian state. Delays are reaching up to 700 days, when it should be 60-90 days. Italian State own company are very late in paying bills and imprecise. Roman economy is based over 50% in the building business, therefore if the Italian State is not giving the start to new projects (already approved) and at the same time is not paying his bills, there is only one perspective for the small business based on building construction and project management: to close down! Italian State is asking more and more for taxes, is dragging resources from the small business economy but is not able to put again in the Financial circuit the money is receiving. If tomorrows the Italian Government started paying all his overdue bills the Italian economy would get an incredible boost.</li> <li>Bureaucracy is killing any start up of a new initiative and at the same time is killing the existing one, there is something similar to cancer in the behavior of the Italian government regarding any new business, too many laws, too many taxes, too many interpretations by State officers, often in contradiction between themselves. I always say that if Hewlett & Packard were Italian they probably had closed 50 years ago, because the garage were they started their business wasn't in order with the local laws (unless they had a friend or a relative placed in the right office to give them the authorization).</li> </ul> Unfortunately in Italy there is not a plan to build a future for the small business, that in 1991 represented the 44% of the working force against the 23.9% of the industry (figure from the Italian office of Statistics ISTAT) now we are about at 45.8%. On the contrary everything is going towards the destruction of our labor. That's why when I asked to 10 entrepreneurs to finance this initiative and I received 10 times YES, and when I went on asking and I received 100% YES. Now I stopped asking since with a very small amount we will be able to stay on TV for more than a month. We will be without a conductor, we want to speak without brakes about the real condition of the Italian Small Business having up to 10 employees. Please, really please, give voice to this initiative. Without a serious approach to incentive the small businesses in Italy and in all Europe, there will not be a solution to unemployment and the Financial crisis. People must be able to start a business in few days, to get financed by the banks quickly and must be able to stand in a market that's huge but made of hundreds of millions of small businesses. Huge companies will not let the unemployment to be reduced, in fact employment in the big industries has decreased constantly. We just started and we want to create a network in the world through all organizations for Small Businesses to preserve and incentive small Enterprises. There is nowere in the future the writing: "Small Business must die", but in fact is what Governments and the Big Industry are doing now, taking all economical resources for them.
