Chapter 15
HAPPINESS

"Thank you Lord for this bright day. The sun is shining high in the sky of Rome. Today it's my turn to tell you what true happiness is for men. Father, true happiness is to know you. To know your word, your promises and the comfort we find in prayer.
Happiness is to meditate on how you have transformed my life, my way of thinking; You gave me everything I needed and even more. You made me understand the meaning of life.
True happiness is the sense of strength inside my chest when I lift my eyes to the sky and I think who you really are. True happiness is knowing how to give up all that this society offers, knowing that no one can take away the most important thing, because you are in me.
Father, happiness is to sit by the sea watching the blue of the water blend with the blue of the sky; it is to feel the warmth of the sun, knowing that you have made it all.
I know that I will live every day with you, today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, until the last day of my life, when I'll come to enjoy all eternity in your presence.
True happiness is that fresh sense of power that floods my mind and my body while I worship you, my Creator; It's that chill that runs in my back when I think about all the wonders of creation and I observe the details and the cure you put in each element of nature. There is nothing in the world that can give a sense of strength and power to man like the consciousness of knowing God.
My life with you Lord is like the trickling of notes that gradually grows and explodes into a beautiful melody and rhythm, to transmit all the energy of its composer. That's how the Holy Spirit is inside of me.
Yes, it's true, Father, real happiness exists! One can be truly blessed in the intimacy of his heart; it is impossible to find happiness in the things of the world, especially in such a corrupted world. Thank you for revealing yourself to me while I was still young, to give me the chance to experience your happiness for the majority of my life."

"You are right. I am the only one that can give true happiness because my happiness is not made of laughter and you can't have it by escaping from reality through drugs, alcohol, or strange philosophies and theories. Happiness is having indisputable certainties which determine a deep sense of peace.
He who ignores my presence is a sad man, bitter, without true prospective; he bases his life on his material possessions and lives to achieve and accumulate as much as he can. So he struggles all his life for money, fame and power, but in the bottom of his heart he knows that one day he will lose it all. He cannot be truly happy. 218.

On the contrary, if someone confides in me, I change his way of thinking 219. I project his existence in an eternal context, in which all the material things lose value and power 220; I protect his life from the attack of the enemy 221 and I teach him to build with true materials that don't decay. With my Spirit, in the intimacy of prayer and meditation, I convince his heart and mind of the truths of his relationship with me, first of all of his deliverance from death 222. Then I watch over him 223 as he becomes part of a spiritual family, the church of Christ, that will take care of him for all his spiritual and practical needs, an eternal family 224.

Finally, a person who has been adopted 225 by me, the creator of the universe, and considers this reality, will have all the reasons to be happy.

Happiness doesn't mean that life will be without difficulties. I have never taken problems away from the life of my children. My way of teaching them is to allow them to have big problems. What is different for those that confide in me, is the way of dealing with the adversity; The natural man uses his nails to tear down a wall, but a child of mine is equipped with a bulldozer 226. Both have the same wall in front of them, but very different tools to use.

In this life power is a necessary requisite to live with serenity; I am the true power of man 227."
