Chapter 9
HELL

"Thank you Father for this new day; Thank you for the opportunity
that you've given me to be in your presence. Today Lord, I saw a film that made me think
about hell. It was a film about a Cambodian citizen and about all the suffering inflicted
by Khmer Rouge to his people.
In particular I was touched by the way this film faithfully represented evil; I saw a
woman thrown into a well, in the hands of her murderer; it was dreadful to see the
hopelessness and the despair in her eyes.
Is that what hell is going to be like?
As human beings, Father, we do not understand in full how hell will be 113. Many do not
believe in its existence, others minimize it; I would like to understand better myself so
that I might explain to others how they can be preserved from it."
"Today you have the courage to look at the reality of hell because you are sure to be out of it 114. But you too underestimate the anguish of an eternal condemnation and the despair of those who experience it for ever. Otherwise you would pray much more, you would evangelize incessantly; If you could catch a glimpse of what eternal suffering will be like, you would try very strongly to tear people away of judgement.
Hell is the place that I have prepared for all those who have rejected
me; it will hold all the people who want to live without me. If hell will "be
hell" for Satan himself, can you imagine what it will be like for men 115?
In hell there is no peace, there is anguish, loneliness, darkness, hate, death, sadness,
frustration, dissatisfaction, evil, injustice and suffering.
All this takes place because I am absent; in hell emotions don't distort reality, but the
perception of reality is absolute.
Those who are condemned don't have any hope, no prospective of improvement. Their eternal
souls know perfectly that they will be tormented for the rest of eternity. In hell one
will see the past, how it was and how it could have been, in full conscience that neither
the past nor the present or the future will ever be again 116. Hell is the place in which
every future prospective is dead.
For the believers the earth today is the closest place to hell that they will ever experience, while for the unbelievers it is the closest place to paradise."
Someone has defined hell like the place where one understands the truth too late, and so it is.
