Chapter 12
LIFE

"This is such a beautiful night, Lord, even if it's already November it is nice on the terrace. Today Father, I was meditating on a subject that touches every human being: life.
One's existence , a precious thing but at the same time so neglected. Life is a gift on which we exercise no power; So this is why I would like you to tell me what life is from your point of view."

"I am the life 152, all life originates in me 153; not one life in the whole universe can exist without my will; without me no life can exist.
Behind every form of life there is my project 154 . The discovery of DNA demonstrates a genetic program for the life of every living being; In fact, every life is the fruit of my specific program, of my will put into action 155.
Life is the opposite of death which it means the absence of every form of life. For man there are two forms of life, a material one and a spiritual one 156; The material one is tied to the biological life, to the laws of chemistry which I've established and which, day by day, in an autonomous manner, give life to people.
The breath of life can be represented by the soul which is the essence of each person. The soul exists in the physical body as well as in the spiritual body after death. The natural man cannot bring anything of himself to his new spiritual body, even though he maintains the basic characteristics of his person 157.

Today you are a human being , but you already have a spiritual life; the decision you make today already have an eternal effect.

Physically man dies when the biological activity of his body ceases; From a spiritual point of view, man dies from the moment he sins.

Sin is the transgression of the law 158, which creates a spiritual wall of separation between man and myself. When man is separated from me, the absolute life, he dies.

Every human being from the moment he is born has a tendency to sin 159. His nature leads him to sin 160; it only takes a few months before the baby begins to understand right from wrong and chooses to do what is wrong. From that moment on, he dies spiritually. Each human being needs redemption 161 to escape from eternal death and gain spiritual life 162.

A person who is spiritually alive is nothing but a person who has communion with me, a person whose sin has been paid completely and forever 163.
Original sin doesn't mean that man has to pay the spiritual consequences of someone else's sin. Adam and Eve's sin killed them first spiritually 164, and gave to every descendant or every human being, the tendency to sin after birth. Each man sins by his own will and no one can cause his spiritual death 165. In the same way, no one can believe and be saved in the place of another.

As you can see the concept of life is tied to the concept of death and to sin that takes away life.

True life consists in knowing me 166, because I renew the spirit of those who know me 167. Only I know how to give true purpose for life and a reason to exist. Those who live in me understand where they come from, where they are going and why; Life is always changing, transforming itself. Most men are terrified of losing their life because, unconsciously, they know they will loose it 168.

The feeling of anguish and panic that man feels in regard to his own death makes sense: it doesn't help to anaesthetize your brain with money, fornication, drugs or other passions; sooner or later I will put and end to his days on earth, and he knows it.

But whosoever takes refuge in me, he who calls on me 169, will never die because I will never abandon him 171.

You know very well that I will never abandon you 172, your spirit is already with me 173. For your life is not a countdown but every day is an additional day of life; Spiritual life has a beginning but has no end 174.

To understand life completely you must see it through my eyes; Only through me my creatures can have a reliable prospective.

Man's view without God is limited, reduced only to material values; Man tries to perpetuate his own existence through material things. He doesn't see that the more he has, the more dissatisfied he becomes.

Another element that man doesn't seem to accept fully is his uniqueness 177. Man has a vague idea of what he is, of his true essence. He seems to think that he exists by chance or that he can change with time.

On the contrary, life is a unique experience; Every moment of life is an element, an unrepeatable part of his existence. Existence is a powerful reality, awesome.

If only a man looked in the right direction he would learn to enjoy the immense richness he has: life".
